The Kassel Synagogue, designed by Prof. Alfred Jacoby Architects, is complemented by lighting design created by serien.lighting. Natural light streams in through a strip of glass in the roof, emphasising the solemn atmosphere of the space. The artistically designed Torah shrine is backlit by LEDs, highlighting its significance.
Eternal light: A bundle of red LEDs illuminates a hand-blown glass sphere, while additional white LEDs enhance the effect and harmoniously integrate the light into the architecture.
Kaddish light: A blue backlit Star of David commemorates the deceased with engraved names, while a long-lasting Panon lamp provides intense luminosity.
Menorah: Light-emitting diodes mark the symbolic flames, with backlit blue glass highlighting them graphically.
The lighting designed by serien.lighting combines tradition with modern technology and creates a spiritual atmosphere that impressively highlights central religious elements.
