The Design Centre Baden-Württemberg describes the luminaire in the winners’ yearbook as follows:
Reduced to the bare essentials in terms of form, the luminaire impresses with its lighting design. This is because the LED modules integrated into the surrounding housing ring direct their light sideways into the microprismatic surface, from where it is deflected downwards – providing uniform, glare-free illumination, regardless of the location.
The simple design allows the luminaire to be used in almost any architectural context. Added to this are the low installation height and the option to further illuminate the ceiling area with an indirect light component.
The luminaire is installed in two steps: first, the housing section containing the electronics is fixed to the ceiling, followed by the actual, self-contained diffuser. The electrical contacts are also connected via a bayonet lock.
Jurystatement:
A ceiling light with a very understated design, offering a perfectly refined, exceptionally uniform light effect in a slim profile. The indirect light illuminates the ceiling area immediately around the luminaire, altering the spatial effect. The installation method is also remarkably simple.
